asynchronous serial ports, such as COM1 or COM2 on a PC. If you use
a modem (not a synchronous or ISDN modem) to contact your ISP, you

Say Y (or M) here if you want to be able to use PPP over synchronous
(HDLC) tty devices, such as the SyncLink adapter. These devices
are often used for high-speed leased lines like T1/E1.
Eines davon fehlt dir, ich weiss nur nicht welches, beide als Modul
kompilieren. Zumindest kriegt man bei Modem-Verbindungen deine
Fehlermeldung, wenn die erste Option nicht im Kernel ist, also wird es
bei PPPoE gleich sein.
