One quick thing to check is to see if ip forwarding is turned on on the linux box. in 2.2 see the file /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward if the contents is 1 then its on if its 0 its off, if your using a 2.0.x kernel this must be turned on in the kernel config.
secondly please list everything you have done to turn on ipmasq including a listing of firewall rules ifconfig output, etc . nate On Tue, 28 Dec 1999, jason wrote: rohwed > rohwed >I'm trying to set up a box here to masquerade for me but i'm running into rohwed >some difficulties.. i have a ethernet connection to the outside world with rohwed >one dynamic ip (dhcp) and my computers will all run into this box via a rohwed >second ether card.. i can ping the masq box.. at both interfaces but i can rohwed >t get the ping request or telnet request to go any farther.. any ideas on rohwed >what i may have over looked? thanks rohwed > rohwed > rohwed > rohwed >-jason rohwed > rohwed >"When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second.
