I have the GF4MX too adn it's working fine.
If you want to use driver from nvidia, make sure you read the doc.
You can extract the binary file by executing ./nvidia-file --extract-only.
Make sure you have kernel-source, headers installed.
Go to the extracted directory and execute ./nvidia-installer
If the installer ask you wheter you want to download from the net, answer
'No'.
Change your X config file refer to the doc.
