Okay, for my local LAN, I'm trying to set up a static IP address. This is what my /etc/network/interfaces looks like
##################################################### auto lo eth0 iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.0.101 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.1 #####################################################
About all I can do at this point is ping my gateway computer. Am I
missing something once again?
One other thing, do I need to input a nameserver anywhere? If so, where?
Thanks,
-A
You put the nameservers in the file /etc/resolv.conf
mine looks like: nameserver 204.122.16.8 nameserver 204.122.16.9
