Ok, jumping into the off-topic thread.... I haven't lived in the U.S. for almost 10 years, but even when I was there, where I lived (Virginia) there was a requirement that all gas was a minimum 10 % ethanol during the winter. Many stations didn't bother changing their supply out-of-season, so year round it was 10 % ethanol. That was quite some time ago. I wouldn't be surprised if the requirements for corn-based fuel has been increased. Also, according to the United States Department of Labor it is 4.7 % as of Feb. 2007. Perhaps certain ethnic groups have a higher rate, but your figures a way off. Certainly petroleum is a reason that the United States are in Iraq, but do you think all of the countries that have forces there have the same motivation?
