i am running an amd64 system, and recently saw that vlc and mplayer are
available now for this platform...
tried, but they play without sound....
xmms plays fine, so i ran an strace on it, and mplayer stops at
open("/dev/snd/controlC0", O_RDONLY) = 5
close(5) = 0
semget(0x56a4d5, 1, IPC_CREAT|0660) = 3375113
semctl(3375113, 0, IPC_STAT, 0x7fffb14a94a0) = 0
semctl(3375113, 0, IPC_SET, 0x7fffb14a94a0) = -1 EPERM (Operation not
permitted)
lsof on /dev/snd/controlC0 doesn't yield anything...
what else can go wrong? i tryed an /etc/init.d/alsa reload, but didn't
change anything...
