Hi all, I have been trying to find out how to get grub updated for both Debian(Sid) and the recently installed Gutsy(pre-release). Ubuntu's installed installed Grub on hd0 automatically without prompting and I had to reinstall it using Debian's /boot.
Is there a way that each of them can update grub (initrd, vmlinuz, menu.lst etc.) automatically upon a kernel upgrade? I have a feeling that it might require sharing the /boot partition by both Debian and Ubuntu. But is it possible, and safe? Ubuntu uses UUIDs for root= in its boot stanza whereas Sid has the regular /dev/sda*. Plus why can the installer only detect a Windows installation and not other Linux distros? or does it so that Ubuntu's installer had a bug! regards, KS. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
