$ apt-cache rdepends browser-plugin-gnash
browser-plugin-gnash
Reverse Depends:
  task-desktop
  gnome
  swfdec-mozilla
  mozilla-plugin-gnash
  gnash-dbg
  task-desktop
  gnome
  swfdec-mozilla
  mozilla-plugin-gnash

A default install should pull gnash via the task-desktop dependency.
