Thank you for your detailed reply. The main reason I want Graphics card support on Linux is that I want a high resolution to work with. The integrated card offers atrocious support for resolution (only 800x600). So the summary would be that "there are open source drivers available, they do work, but I may be violating licences" - am I right?
