MX records are for incoming mail servers - not outgoing mail servers. If an organization uses a different server for outbound other than the same server(s) used for inbound mail, then that outbound server will not have an MX record.
It should by all correct practices have an A record and a PTR record for that server in their DNS. ------- Randy A.
