To be honest this is the last time I upgrade to a new version of ubuntu as
soon as it's released. I face a lot of problems (like I did when I switched
to 'gutsy').

The worst of all problems comes to sleep/hibernate. I was satisfied with
gutsy on this (after ofcourse spending a lot of time fixing it) and as soon
as I did the upgrade to hardy, the problems came back. Sleep and hibernate
go well but when when resuming the screen was black and while the keyboard
was not frozen there was not much to do but to just severely shut it down
and start again.

I just now after deciding to remove everything related to apm package, I
search on the repository and came up to uswsusp. After removing apm (don't
know if helped removing) and installing this package, I run the
configuration package and selected /dev/sda2 (which is my swap partition)
and voila! I tried both suspend and hibernate and work like a charm. And
guess what! it's faster on sleeping / resuming than it was when working on
gutsy.

FYI, my system is a lenovo 3000 V1000 laptop with 1.83GHz, 100Gb SATA HDD,
12" tft.

if you do a mistake on configuration of uswsusp you can re-run the
configuration with 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure uswsusp'.

regards,

Nicolas
