I can confirm that this bug is absolutely genuine and reproducible.

This is purely speculation but could this be a synchronisation problem
between nautilus and gvfs? Selecting a link in the "Computer" menu
should result in the volume first being mounted and then being opened in
a nautilus window. Is it possible that nautilus is jumping the gun so to
speak, and trying to open the volume before it has been mounted?
