zoomy942, the relevant part of that thread (the one about uvcvideo driver) suggests to install latest trunk from uvcvideo svn. That's the latest version before uvcvideo was included in mainline kernel (2.27) and probably the same (or almost the same) one included in Hardy.
If it fixes the issue it's just one more evidence that Cheese is not involved at all with this thing and it is a driver/kernel fault only.
