As the error comes from ping, I tried this:

$ ping -b 72.249.171.160
ping: invalid option -- 'b'
?: not implemented

So it should be coming from ping itself?
Can someone second that? What is the -b option? I don't see it in my "man ping" 
page.


this might be useful (both contains /bin/ping):

inetutils-ping:

iputils-ping:
  Installed : (none)
