I made a test file to suit the http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Experience_ubuntu.ogg video file (stopped subtitling it at 1:10). When viewing with vlc player or totem- xine the timing is correct but with totem-gstreamer the timing is wrong. As the video file is quite a short one the timing shift is not very different, but with longer files the timing difference grows.
