Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Regression bug in 9.10 beta. Dell Inspiron 510m freezes when lid is
closed. It worked fine on previous ubuntu versions.

I assume this is not a problem with suspend, but rather key/event
handling. Suspend works fine if I press "suspend" key combination
(Fn+Esc) on keyboard. However, closing notebook lid always freezes the
notebook and I have to switch it off "the hard way" (press power button
and keep holding it).

This bug is especially annoying when I start shutdown sequence and then
close the lid before notebook is switched off.
