We are a few people here at the office that have the exact same problem: Sometimes the login prompt just doesn't show when the screensaver running. We all have Ubuntu 11.04, but only those of us using Unity or Gnome Classic have seen the problem. The guy running KDE have not seen the problem. We have all upgraded from Ubuntu 10.10.
When it happens, we can go to the console, e.g. "Ctrl-Alt-F1", and kill gdm-session-worker. Then login in again (but we will start with a blank desktop, must restart our programs etc.). I am using the 'GL Slideshow' screen saver. Let me know if there is further information I can provide to help debugging. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792787 Title: i "lock screen" comeback later I don't get a login prompt, I can ctl- alt f6 and login so the system is still working I just can not get back in graphicly without a reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/792787/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
