Although it worked without problems on the same setup and hardware under Ubuntu 9.10, after upgrading to 10.04 this problem came up. In order to connect, I have to right click network-manager applet, and select Enable Wireless. If then enabled, it connects to the network. But it has to be done manually every time the computer starts.
