This bug appeared on my system Ubuntu 12.10, 64 Bit after a recent update of evince (hadn't been a problem before).
This problem doesn't appear for all pdfs, but many! Here is one where the bug does appear: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1205.6214v2 to reproduce it, open the document an scroll down towards the end of a page, as this is reached, the display of the current page swaps into the next such that the next page is doubled.
