hmm, we (Guillaume mainly) did a huge work to enable to decorate the pom
and aim at using xml as it is and this is a perfect match use case, if we
fail to make it then it means we likely missed something

anyway since there will be no consensus and if the external namespace
support is not desired then I think the topic can be closed until it pops
again in a few years
