I did it this way round because the site is still in trunk; this was
the arrangement that seemed to cause least upheaval at the time.

As it happens, the changes proposed by Rony will be in 2.x, i.e.
trunk; the 3.x branch I think is stable.

I'm not sure it matters too much either way.
