I'm pleased to invite all interested members of the httpd community to participate in the incubation of a new httpd subproject, cli-dev.
An immediate and initial benefit of this subproject is a donation of code I created at Covalent to host ASP.NET content within httpd 2.0, strictly for the MS .NET environment on win32. Of course, the mono community already enjoys an ASP.NET/apache hosting environment. The short-term goal of this project is to release mod_aspdotnet for our win32 users. The long-term goal is to refactor the CLI/.NET interfaces, e.g. mono's and MS .NET to provide an abstract .NET/Apache thunk. With that done, it then becomes possible to implement a mod_perl-like native interface to the Apache.Web.Server, isolated from the IP concerns of hosting ASP.NET on a non-MS platform. If you would like to help in the initial code-review effort, or the ultimate project of building Apache.Web.Server (implementation independent), on top of the CLI/.NET environment, please email this weekend or early Monday to cli-dev-subscribe .at. httpd.apache.org. General discussion about incubation, release, roadmap and so forth will occur once folks have a chance to join in. Please recognize, this is *not* an accepted project (yet) and has steps in the incubator and httpd PMC to follow before it becomes a formal, adopted httpd sub-project. See http://incubator.apache.org/projects/httpd-cli.html (thanks Ian :) Note the repository was wrong, it's actually https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/httpd/cli/ browsable from http://svn.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/incubator/httpd/cli/?root=Apache-SVN#dirlist Look forward to seeing some of you at [EMAIL PROTECTED] :) Yours, Bill
