Hi,
The given sha1sum in this mail is wrong it must be:
4944093da03937ad9c178002968c34f8447aa459
which is contained in
http://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/maven-1082/org/apache/maven/plugins/maven-assembly-plugin/2.5/maven-assembly-plugin-2.5-source-release.zip.sha1
But download of source-release.zip and creating shasum produces the
above shasum...which is the same as in repo...
Furthermore i have checked the package via
mvn -Prun-its clean verify with Maven Version 2.2.1 and unfortunately
got failing integration tests for Maven 2.2.1

In the meantime i have identified the following commit r1633544 which
seemed to cause the problem with Maven 2.2.1....I have created an
appropriate JIRA issue http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MASSEMBLY-721
My own build server confirms that...

also with different JDK's...(I can give you access to get more detailed
view if you need)...
Web site looks ok....
