Yes because thats what the companies pay for. All the talks are paid by
companies.
I have written earlier, that it did not work out. They wanted me to pay for
everything, and even asked if I could bring my own projector. That of
course made me politely inform them that I am a volunteer and cannot use a
lot of money on such an event.
I see. Well, you know better than everybody else that the project does
have some money for events... but of course the event must be worth it.
I personally had never heard about this event before (this probably
doesn't mean anything: I'm not familiar with Spanish software conferences).
I suggested that they next year, ask the companies to pay a little more,
and use that on volunteers, just e.g. a lunch to signal respect of the
volunteers. That will be considered for next years conference.
Good suggestion, let's hope they consider it.
