Well, I have a similar issue with LUbuntu 18.10 The default JRE is openjdk-11-jre Once installed, this is not recognized by AOO too. javasettings_Linux_x86.xml is not updated. If I choose openjdk-8-jre, all is fine. AOO in Tools > Options > Java displays Oracle Corp. v.18.0_191
