The CLASSPATH environment variable or -cp switch needs to contain the output of "unoinfo java" which usually consists of the following fully qualified directories to point to the following files: unoil.jar, ridl.jar, jurt.jar and juh.jar.
LibreOffice combines these four jar files into a single jar file (I think libreoffice.jar) which simplifies/shortens the CLASSPATH string considerably.
