Well perhaps you _shouldn't_ do it. Comparing OSM to Gmap might be interesting in some ways, but deriving data from one to the other is certainly a bad idea, frowned upon by fans of either or both. But it can be done. There are OpenLayers examples that can show the maps side by side.
