Hi all,
Shortly I shall be leaving Sun, so this seems like a good time to take
another look at the role of this project.
The project mission statement according to its webpage is:
"To provide a location for the development, archiving and sharing of
useful scripts & macros. To provide a forum for the discussion of user
tasks in OpenOffice.org that could be automated by scripts."
Now it would seem to me tha this role is being fulfilled by the Code
Snippets part of the API project
(http://codesnippets.services.openoffice.org/). There fore I propose
that this project should be mothballed and any links be redirected to
point at the API project. Alternatively, if people think there is
sufficient reason for this project remaining in existence, I would
like someone to step forward and volunteer to take over the project.
Thoughts??
I've been trying to find time to try out the Python interface but
haven't as yet, so while not speaking from experience, I have to say
that it seems unfortunate that the API project site makes no reference
to Python as a supported language. Is this because of some limitation
in what can be done with Python? Why are there no Python code-snippet
examples?
