As you will have seen in the earlier post a wiki engine hasn't been
decided upon.

Others may have more experience with this than I do (being barely
monolingual).

I am not aware of a way for either Twiki or MediaWiki to work in the way
that you describe. I can think of two suggestions:

1. Write a plug-in for the wiki engine to work in the way you suggest (I
haven't written any plugins for either engine so don't know how feasible
this would be).

2. Simply have an internal link at the top of each page to the different
translations, and the translator copies and pastes the text.

I do plan on investigating writing plugins, I started investigating
Twiki and indeed updated the beautifier plugin for syntax highlighting
of OOo basic. I stopped when it looked as if the wiki was going to
change to MediaWiki. MediaWiki uses a Geishi plugin for syntax
highlighting which already has OOo Basic.

The first plugin that I think we need is to have Writer as an editor.
Note that this is different from having a 'wiki' based on the Open
Document Format.
