Yes, many "newer" Sling modules are using that. I think the homegrown JSON code is here for historical reasons. If someone wants to change that that's fine, but backwards compatibility has to be preserved. The strong modularity of Sling means it's not necessarily a problem (even if not optimal) to use different techniques in different modules. To be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, IMO. -Bertrand
