Here are failures I got running in the 3.4 branch with the rules, rulesrc, and
t.rules symlinked to trunk.
sudo make test TEST_FILES="xt/*.t"
in macOS 11.2.3
I'm not deep enough into the code to address the issue right now, just
following release steps.
