That is interesting because I used olpc-update 650 from home this morning and it installed but I have to say the last message before the system prompt was "installing ....." it did not give a warm fuzzy feeling that it installed until I rebooted and noted the kernel was 650. What concern me was that it only took < 10 minutes... it did not appears to have to load the entire 300mb... BTW I loaded the new OFW after I installed 650 if that makes a difference.
