There are certainly some incompatibilities, I'm afraid. As just a couple of examples, the Sailfish connman fork exposes the ResetCounters and CreateService dbus methods [1]. However, these aren't available upstream [2]. Both of these are used by libconnman-qt [3, 4].
It's possible this just breaks the specific functionality rather than everything, but I've not tried, so couldn't say for sure.
