Hi folks,

I'm trying to build xf86 in smaller pieces and ran into some
trouble: (current 4.4.0)

A minimalistic build (i.e. just the xlib) only works, if the
volumes 1,2,3 are uncompressed into the same directory. Otherwise
some files (i.e. some makefiles from vol2 or some includes from vol3
) are not found.

Is this a bug?
If not - why is the sourcetree splitted along those non-working lines ?

btw: are the libs in xc/extras/ required as this point (and these
versions) or is it enough having them installed on the system.
