Hi,

855resolustion does not work for me ;-(.

I am running Fedora Core 2, with Xorg version (X -version):

    Release Date: 18 December 2003
    X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.7

I suppose this is the same as XFree86 4.4 RC2.

lspci -vv says (for the graphics card):

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corp. 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA])

When I run the "855resolution -l" (v0.2), I get:

    Chipset: 855GM
    VBIOS type: 1
    VBIOS Version: 2880
(the same modes list of Xorg.0.log)

Using v0.1, "855resolution -l" gives:

    Chipset: 855GM
BIOS Configuration area offset: 0x0c20 bytes
    BIOS Version: 80Mo
    (strange modes list)

Since 1024x768 does not work on my laptop, I try to replace mode 800x600x16bits (mode 43, as reported both by 855resoluviov0.2 and Xorg.0.log) by mode 1024x768 (16bits?):

    init 3
    855resolution 43 1024 768
    init 5

855resolution says the mode has been replaced, but Xorg does not find neither the new 1024x768 nor the replaced 800x600, and starts in 640x480 ;-(.   I tryed inserting a modline for 1024x768, but that did not work. I tryed removing all references to any mode other than 1024x768 in xorg.conf, but that did not work either.

Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks a lot,

Sérgio

BTW: WindowsXP runs with 1024x768 in the same machine.

Hello

deimos# ./855resolution -l
Chipset: 855GM
Unknow VBIOS structure
deimos#

I have a Acer TM 661 and someone already posted that it worked on his
machine.

I'm using an ACER TM661 as well and I got the same message ("Unknown VBIOS
structure").
After changing line 34 to

    *bios_type = 0;

the patch works with my laptop.
I hope this helps.
