Even though you don't want to use the NumberSeq system for the number
itself, there are some good methods on the NumberSeq class like
numChekFormat that could be used for a foundation for a validation of
your field. I would use this and make my own validate field method,
maybe based on a mask setup in some parameters somewhere (or against a
fixed format).

The problem is that i don't want to use a number sequence. I only want
to make sure the format of the number is correct. The number itself can
be any number.
