I've seen this too, but I've also seen the "bad data" message without
any obvious DSB consequences.

I've also gotten messages around that time about "unable to send
CB_BAD_DATA" or similar, I'm assuming that this is either because 1) the
supposed sending node doesn't actually exist or 2) the datastore just
got so fried that my noderefs are shot.

Any insights on that one? If you want logs, I can probably dig them up.

P.S. I have rarely (if ever) seen the DSB when I run as transient.
Whether this is a direct consequence, or just a function of the reduced
load, I don't know.
