Become a part of one of the country's largest and most exciting conservation efforts of all time -- the restoration of the Klamath River! You will be working on the Upper Klamath River as the Chief of the Division of Habitat Conservation and Restoration for the Klamath Falls (Oregon) Fish and Wildlife Office. You will have an opportunity to shape the future of this unique watershed by helping to restore the Upper Klamath and recover species native to the Upper Basin. You will work along side state and federal partners, and members of the local farming, ranching, conservation, and tribal communities to find solutions to conservation needs of this community. We are seeking a candidate with strong management and people skills. This position will also work closely with other FWS offices in the Basin. There may also be opportunities for basin-wide recovery and restoration work beginning in early 2008. This is an exciting time to be working on behalf of the Klamath River. A lot of progress has been made in recent years in the local community to find a lasting solution to the water allocation needs of those dependent on it - the farmers, ranchers, tribes, fisherman -- and the fish. In recent months, national media attention has been focused on the Klamath River and its potential for restoration. Efforts are currently under way to negotiate the removal of four dams on the Klamath -- which the Washington Post called "the largest dam-removal project in world history." So if conservation work runs in your blood, there is no better place to be. Become part of something big, become part of the Klamath River restoration team. Please help us find a great candidate by passing this message on. Additional information and contact information is included in the attached summary of the position announcement. _________________________________ Laurie Sada Deputy Field Supervisor Klamath Falls Fish and Wildlife Office 1936 California Ave. Klamath Falls, Oregon 97601 Phone: (541) 885-2507 - desk Phone: (541) 885-8481 - receptionist Fax: (541) 885-7837 cell: (541) 274-0697 [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________
