IDIA2009 will draw together researchers, policy-makers and reflective

This event serves as multi-disciplinary platform for debating current research
and best practices on leveraging ICTs for the benefit of marginalised
communities.

The conference will be managed by the School of Information Technology of
Monash University's South African campus in Johannesburg; and has attracted
papers and participants from various countries including Australia, Austria,
Brazil, Botswana, China, India, Mozambique, Kenya, Pakistan, Romania, U.S.A.,
U.K., South Africa, and Swaziland.

Among others, keynote speakers will include Kagiso Chikane, Centre Manager at
Meraka Institute, South Africa and Prof. Ron Weber, Dean of Faculty of
Information Technology, Monash University and former editor-in-chief of MIS
Quarterly.

Selected papers will be considered for a special issue of the Information
