AFAIK SBC is supplying a neat 2Wire DSL modem to all their new
customers. Verizon may do the same. The 2Wire has USB, a 4 port
ethernet switch, HPNA, and 802.11g WiFi.
Now if SBC's tech support could figure out if the customer's computer
will run the drivers, or tell what extra equipment customers need to
network their computers together, the techies who are effectively doing
SBC's tech support for them for nothing would have a lot more free time.
