I agree. Interested as I am in digital mode software one must remember that millions of troops on both sides were co-ordinated in WWII using the skill of the radio operators, not the sort of technology we see today. We should rely on the person's ability, not the equipment. Myself I just don't see the need for digital modes in an emergency - if SSB / CW and someone who knows what he is doing does not prevail then give up. Simon HB9DRV
