After many years of N1MM Logger use, I have coughed up some Euros
and switched to WinTest. My usual RTTY software is Winwarbler and I
often just use Winwarbler when I casually participate in RTTY
contests. However I decided today that I would use N1MM Logger in
NAQP RTTY but again had issues configuring the software. N1MM Logger
has worked quite nicely over the years the features are very good and
customer support has been good, but I have always had problems with
the way the configuration file appears. Compared to other software,
N1MM Logger's areas for configuring PTT ports, etc, seems very
counter intuitive. For the last RTTY contest, I played with N1MM for
2 hours trying to figure out why I could get no PTTY in FSK RTTY.
This morning I spent another hour and still no PTT. It is probably me
that is a complete bozo, but N1MM is really the only digital mode
software that causes me as much grief. So, two minutes after
downloading WinTest, I had it fully configured and FSK RTTY was
purring along nicely. Anyone else here using Wintest? Just
wondering what people think of it. I know N1MM is well used and has a
deserved good reputation. I did consider Writelog again, but the
post-traumatic-stress symptoms from very poor customer support years
ago eventually set in and I bought WinTest.
