IMO, to put the write part on an external extension is a good idea. There are other extensions for import export (like OpenOffice.org2GoogleDocs that gives export capabilities to GoogleDocs, Zoho and WebDAV) I still think that there are too many thing on "save as" dialogue that should go on "export" instead, but moving at least this conflictive ooxml part to an extension could bring some peace
