Presumably m$ is at fault, but is it correct to advise people to save
odf spreadsheets in a legacy m$ format in order to keep formulas,
instead of using ods???
For now, the most reliable formats for interoperability with Office users still seem to be the ones
for XP (etc.). Versions of Office since 2007 SP2 have ODF "support" but it doesn't work well with
other ODF implementations (especially, as you've found, for spreadsheets). The Sun (free) and Oracle
(paid) plugins for Office work much better, but people usually can't/won't install them. The jury is
still out on the relative quality of the legacy formats and OOXML (not ODF) formats exported by LibO.
