Hi all, I am currently working on a blog for my website utilizing the date_based generic views for a lot of the presentation.
The problem that I am running into, though, is that date_based.object_detail requires specifying the 'day' parameter: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/generic-views/#django-views-generic-date-based-object-detail I want my URLs to look like this: http://127.0.0.1:8000/blog/2009/02/test-slug/ Am I missing something here? I am about to write my own view to handle the actual blog entry (keeping the generic ones for the archives), but just wanted to make sure there wasn't a way to use the generic view without specifying a day. I could look up the object and get the date, but that would add another database query that I shouldn't really need. Also, if there isn't an alternative other that writing my own view, I can submit a patch to add this functionality.
