Max, I've not installed dnsadmin so I'm working from guess work here. What are the file permissions and ownership on the data.tmp file and where is the data.tmp file being created (full path name).

Hi, and thx for your reply, When creating a domain with dnsadmin, the error_log says: tinydns-data : fatal : unable to create data.tmp: access denied (I've chmod 777 on tinydns dir) but the domain is created successfully according to /etc/tinydns/root/data and I can successfully query the domain with nslookup or dig, so it works. but when i try to modify or delete a domain, the original error shows. (could not open temp data file). I receive no error in error_log when trying to delete domain, so i suppose all of tinydns created data.tmp has to be retained until domain is deleted? Hi, Have you checked your apache access and error logs to see which file it is trying to access? Stuart,
