This is a really important development. If parliaments and legislatures want to remain relevant in our information-age democracy they will have to compete with the movement toward online consultations hosted by the the administrative side of government. Prediction - By 2005 a majority of the world's parliaments including state legislatures/assemblies will build their own online committee "hearing rooms" for asynchronous and potentially live online consultations/hearings. Prediction 2 - If I am wrong, the power and responsiveness of our representatives and their institutions will decline as online citizens get all the service and civic interaction they need from administrative side government.
