Position  : Infrastructure - Software Engineer( Local candidates only.
Engineers will be required to work some weekends and possibly evenings)
Location  : NJ
Duration  : 5 Months


Responsibilities:
Implementation:  Hands on execution of Implementation activities for new and
upgraded IT Infrastructure with standard platforms on
Network/Server Technologies, carried out in compliance with best practices.
Release Management:
 Follow the standard Release Management Process for deployment and
implementation.
 Perform validation and vetting of documentations that includes Ops Runbook,
Support Manual, Work Instructions, Check List,

Known Errors and Deficiency List.
 Integration of all devices to the Monitoring System.
Change Management:
 Responsible for validating and vetting Change Requests to ensure
compliance, including verification checks & fallback procedures.
Technical Support:
 Provides 2nd level escalation contact for troubleshooting, with end-to-end
ownership for technical support carried out in compliance with best
practices.
Incident Management:
 Provide single point of contact to fix or escalate incidents, within agreed
Mean-Time-To- Recover (MTTR) for service restoration.

 Use tools to analyze incidents and ensure process compliance.
 Provide Service Recovery Work Instructions to 1st Level Operations and
assistance such that 80% of incidents are fixed by the

First line.
 For severe incidents, perform duties as required within the Technical
Recovery Team to escalate and resolve issues, and participate in post
incident reviews and execute follow up actions.
Problem Management:

Support Engineer
 Analyze & define problems using Problem Management Tools for Root Cause
Analysis and update entries to the Known Error

Database.
Information Technology Service Continuity Manager:
 Execute Power Down Tests & Site Failover Tests, including recovery actions.
 Share support knowledge and experience across the broader Common Platform
team.
 Positions may shift with work on weekends and require some evenings.
 Day hours 9AM to 6PM

Qualifications
 Specialized Knowledge (mandatory) with Hands-on experience for the
following competencies:
 Technical Expertise with Certifications on HP Proliant (Windows 2003), Sun
(Solaris10), IBM Blades (Windows 2003) for
implementation and support roles and also on Cisco products with thorough
knowledge on Networking and
Communication for Data Centre Operations for Internet, Intranet and MPLS
distribution.
 Knowledge with IBM WAS (Websphere Application Server) & FAST Search is an
advantage.
 Knowledge on IT Security and ISO 27001 requirements.
 Thomson Reuters Product Expertise with Applications Infrastructures in Data
Centre such as RKWM, TIBCO, DACS etc
and Client Site Experience with RMDS, cDBU etc.
 Experience with the ITIL Process method of working for Incident, Problem,
Change, Release & Configuration
Management Tasks covering analysis & execution.
 Remote Support Experience covering 24 x 7 mission critical business
environment.
 3 to 6 years experience on Technical Support and Implementation roles for
IT infrastructure Data Centre environment.
 Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ITIL Processes.
 Experience with complex product environment for application support with
thorough understanding on data flow and
architecture.
 Highly motivated individual, with a positive & pro-active attitude to work,
and willingness to make changes to improve operational efficiency through
innovation, process and procedure, and adopting and adapting ideas and
practices from elsewhere.
 Ability to act rapidly and logically under pressure, and make effective use
of others in resolving problems.
 Ability to work in shift and flexible schedule.
 Ability to provide IT support and implementation services remotely with
available tools and MOW.
 Logical & Systematic Approach to problem solving requirements.
 Writing Skills for Documentation, Building & Maintaining Relationships,
Problem Solving and Decision Making, end to
end ownership for customer satisfaction through levels of support, planning
and organization & working well across the
virtual team.
