Hello there! I'm glad to announce that I put online a first static copy of our website for testing purposes:
http://www.doudoulinux.org/test/ I recall that the objective is to have a read-only version for our official online site and an R/W version (the work copy) to work without worrying about potential consequences (see ticket https://gna.org/task/?7348). The work copy is just the current Spip website that you all now. The static read-only version is a Html copy of Spip made with Httrack. The static version is to be synchronized with Spip regularly of course :). Benefits are the following: * Documentation can be updated during a period of several weeks before the next release is out without introducing inconsistencies relatively to the available CD's online (which are still the former release). * Web designers can test Html/CSS/JavaScript/skeletons without worrying about consequences on the official website. They can even ask to have a tarball (15MB) of the full static website to work offline :). * Html pages will be likely served faster than Spip pages, resulting in a faster website. * We can later plan to have mirrors of our website around the world ;). As a result I invite you to test the static version as soon as possible and report about any eventual issue. Pay a particular attention to links. Note that as long as you're not clicking on a link outside of the domain www.doudoulinux.org, you should stay in the static copy whose pages start with “http://www.doudoulinux.org/test/”. Cheers, JM. _______________________________________________ Doudoulinux-dev mailing list Doudoulinux-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/doudoulinux-dev
