I reported a problem to the gatos list a long while back that
I think may be related. (I thought it was strictly a gatos
thing, but have no idea, so I'll share it now).
I'm running X from cvs (old, but post 4.2.0) on my radeon 64mb.
Once I've run _any_ gl app, if I attempt to run xawtv, or use
mtv, it hangs the entire system. I just recently noticed that
the same thing occurs after switching to a vt and back--attempts
to watch video cause a system hang.
Exiting X entirely and restarting it at least makes it possible
to watch video after having used a gl app.

So now I wonder if it's just X related and not gatos or dri
specific.

My system is SMP 2x P3 933, asus cuv4-xd (via chipset).
